Let’s go through all the reveals from this year’s Warhammer Day!
Emperor’s Children are coming in 2025
It’s finally confirmed for real! The Emperor’s Children are coming in 2025. When? How? Who? We don’t know, all we got was this logo and it says they will come in 2025.
I am looking forward to see Fullgrim in 40K. They made an amazing model for 30K already, so maybe it’s just going to be that one, but don’t forget about Lucius! New plastic noise marines! Weird mutations! I am really looking forward to this release and it might just become my new army for 2025.
Christmas Battleforce Boxes 2024
We’ve got 5 boxes coming for 40k and 4 for AoS. These boxes are always great value sets. Usually they can help you get started with a new army. They are usually not that great if you are already playing this army and are looking to expand. So what are we getting?
Battleforces for 40k:
- Necrons
- Dark Angels
- Imperial Knights
- Tau
- Sisters of Battle
I think, the Imperial Knights and Dark Angels box is the most interesting for 40K. If you don’t play Knights, then you can get started with 2 of these boxes and you can get yourself a whole army really quickly.
The Dark Angels box is nice to get if you are already playing Space Marines and you would like to try the Inner Circle playstyle with a load of terminators. You get the Lion as well and that’s always nice to have, even if people don’t really play him at the moment.
Battleforces for Age of Sigmar:
- Cities of Sigmar
- Ironjawz
- Flesheater Courts
- Maggotkin of Nurgle
The Maggotkin of Nurlge is a nice box with good variety of units. The Warcry Rotmire Creed warband is pretty cool and good to have as well. The Ironjawz box is alright too. You get so many orks that you won’t have to buy any more after this and you can just get some characters and monsters to flesh out the army.
New Rattlings and Ork Tankbusters
We’re getting a new Kill-Team combo of rattlings vs ork tankbusters. I think the models look great, but at the moment neither is really playable in 40k.
Rattlings are a 5 man sniper squad at the moment and I don’t think this is going to make it any better. Who wants a 10 man sqaud of infantry that is probably really weak, but with some good sniping? It might be good enough if those tripwires can give out mortal wounds. We’ll just have to see.
The new ork tankbusters are great and look cool with their bomb squigs. However, just as the rattlings, they don’t see much play at the moment.
AoS Slaves to Darkness Codex and Spearhead
The Slaves to Darkness are getting a new Spearhead box, this time it’s all Marauders. It’s a pretty cool box if you want to go with a Marauder army.
The new codex is also teased and the Chaos Sorcerer is getting a new model. Overall, a pretty cool preview for the Slaves to Darkness players.
Underworlds and Legions Imperialis
Finally we get a new couple models for Legions Imperialis, and a new edition of Underworlds.
For the Legions Imperialis, it’s a dark mechanicum strider. A really cool model, too bad it’s so small and not fit for 40k. Maybe I can kitbash something like that?
Underworlds is getting a whole new set of rules and comes out of the gates with a kit for Stormcast Eternals and Skaven. The minis are fantastic, of course! Each model is a character in itself and so they look cool and unique.
