Existing Word Bearers miniatures
First I’m going through the existing Word Bearer minis. There are actually some good minis such as Lorgar, Erebus, Kor Phaeron and Argel Tal that you can use as proxies in your army. And there is a great transfer sheet too!
Books and scrolls
Of course you need books with forbidden knowledge and scrolls and other parchments to spread the word. You will have to source these bits from all over the place, but the Empire Flagellants are probably the best kit you can get as a Word Bearers player. They don’t only have a lot of books and scrolls, they also come with all kinds of flames and torches.
Flames and torches
You shouldn’t just spread the fate, you should also purge all other fates! This universe can only be cleansed in flames! Again, the flagellants are the best kit for this, but there are some other great options too!
Word Bearer Cultists and other bits and pieces
You can’t just send in the marines, or grotesque possessed chaos space marines. You need some chaff and cannon fodder as well. The regular cultists aren’t bad, but I think they can be much improved with the Cawdor Gang from Necromunda with their flamers!
